Homograph

Definition: 

A homograph is word that has the same spelling as another. Homographs differ from each other in:

  • meaning
  • origin, and
  • sometimes pronunciation.
Examples: 
  • bow, the front part of a ship
  • bow, to bend
  • bow, a decorative knot
